Improved Corrosion Protection and Worker Safety with Chromate-Free ZC-027L

 

Zip-Chem Products today announced ZC-027L, a superior aircraft corrosion inhibitor. Independent lab tests -conducted for 3,000 hours in a salt-spray chamber - showed no evidence of corrosion on test panels treated with ZC-027L. This performance surpasses that of competing products for aircraft static joint application. "We understand major aircraft manufacturers are rewriting specifications and issuing substitute drawings to reference ZC-027L" said Chuck Pottier, Zip-Chem President. Typical static joint applications include seat tracks, floor beams, antenna, lavatory and galley uses.

 

"Zip-Chem developed ZC-027L when a major airframe manufacturer asked us for a corrosion inhibitor without chromates," said Pottier. "Chromates are a worker hazard as suspected carcinogens. The new ZC-027L is free of chromates as required. In addition we eliminated the asbestos and other contaminates found in competing products. As a result, ZC-027L delivers greater safety, improved product purity and, as the salt-spray test confirms, better performance," he said.

 

Zip-Chem's ZC-027L is a non-drying corrosion inhibitor for use in 2-3 mil thick applications. It can be applied with a brush, spatula or by sealant gun through a SEMCO™ style cartridge. Elevated temperature application is acceptable and ZC-027L will withstand high UV exposure in corrosive environments.
