Statement from the US EPA regarding the swine flu: on 5/6/2009
- US EPA Advisory “Ms. Michele Wingfield, Branch Chief, Product Science Branch of the US EPA Office of Pesticide Programs, Antimicrobial Division is recommending the use of any registered product with label claim against Influenza A. If your products have an Influenza A label claim, you can use against the current H1N1 strain. That being said, you cannot add "swine flu" to your label just because you have influenza A. The Administration is currently calling this strain 2009-H1N1 flu instead of swine flu.” Calla 1452, Calla 7127, and Calla 1000 all have Influenza A claims.

Boeing Approves New Zip-Chem Products Material for Bird Strike Clean Up 7/10/06 updated on 4/15/2009
Updated from 7/10/2006
Boeing has just completed the testing of a new product, Calla 7127, for D6-
17487 materials compatibility. Boeing found Calla 7127 to be compatible with
the airplane aluminum exterior when the product is in a diluted form, 3.5
ounces per 4.5 gallons of water (0.73 ounces per gallon). The product is
being marketed by Zip-Chem Products. When cleaning the external aircraft surfaces to remove bird strike residue,
cleansing agents and disinfectants qualified to the ref /B/ document are
recommended. Boeing does not test any product for substance efficacy against
disease agents. Boeing recommends airline operators contact the World Health
Organization (WHO), product manufacturers, government agencies, or local
health agencies for product efficacy. However, the WHO website,
http://www.who.int/csr/disease/avian_influenza/en/, recommends the use of
Virkon, a material that corrodes aluminum. Boeing strongly recommends that
operators not use this product. Please contact Jason Smith, Zip-Chem
